Plan the whole visit: Wimbledon
The 2027 application window has closed
The 2027 Public Ballot closed at 23:59 BST on 14 September 2026. It opened on 1 September. Entry needed a myWimbledon account and a separate ballot application; account registration alone was insufficient. Successful applicants receive offers by email from October 2026 onwards. Check junk folders and the payment deadline in the offer. The ballot allocates the day, court and seat: it is unsuitable if only one particular date will work for you.If you applied, your immediate job is to watch for an offer and keep your account usable. If you missed the window, begin with the official alternatives below. Buying a hotel room will not improve your ballot position, and a screenshot of an account registration is not evidence of an application. Keep the confirmation of the application you actually submitted.
The Championships take place 28 June–11 July 2027. Those confirmed main-draw dates help you investigate travel, but your allocation determines your own attendance day. Compare a flexible room now if useful, then check the cancellation deadline before accepting any offer. Give yourself enough room to change your plans if the allocated day is different from the one you originally imagined.

Understand what the ballot allocates
The ballot selects an allocation of day, court and seats; it is not a menu of matches. Approach it with an open calendar. Someone wanting a particular final, a specific weekday or a named player needs to recognise that those preferences may not match an offer. The ticket terms explain what your ticket actually grants and the restrictions attached to it.
An allocated court seat and grounds access can still make a rewarding day even when the draw looks different from your wish list. Read the daily programme when it becomes available and explore outside-court options around your reserved seat. Avoid scheduling a restaurant reservation against an assumed match finish: tennis follows the contest and the weather.
When reviewing an offer with a friend, settle who will attend and whether the day suits both of you before buying. Ask Wimbledon ticketing about any access requirement before committing to arrangements that rely on a particular seat or companion.

Watch your email and read the payment deadline
Successful applicants receive offers from October 2026. Keep your myWimbledon details current and check spam and junk folders as well as your inbox. Silence at the beginning of the offer period is not a promise of a later allocation. The organiser’s message is the document to act on.
Open the offer carefully and record its court, day, seat information, amount and payment deadline. Read the instructions in the message and log in through the official Wimbledon service. Do not use an old deadline remembered from another edition. A friend’s payment window is not necessarily your own.
Before paying, compare the whole trip: train or flight arrangements, accommodation, companions and the journey home. Keep the ticket purchase confirmation alongside your booking details. If something is unclear, ask official ticketing while there is time to resolve it; do not assume an email offer has become a confirmed purchase simply because you have read it.

Choose an alternative if you missed out
The Queue and official hospitality remain routes to investigate. The Queue is an on-day attempt with limited availability and capacity constraints. Hospitality is an advance package: examine its date, court seat, food, service and cancellation terms. Debentures form the transferable ticket category, with their own facilities and seller’s quote.
Follow organiser messages for any additional advance returns or releases. Read eligibility before planning around a sale, particularly when it is restricted to a particular group. Official on-site resale requires admission first and returned seats afterwards; it cannot serve as your plan for entering the grounds.
If the main event is beyond your budget, look at the separate qualifying competition at Roehampton. Keep its venue and ticket separate from a Wimbledon main-draw visit. For accommodation, compare the Wimbledon stay areas and choose a booking that matches the route you intend to use. An early Queue start calls for a different transport plan from a leisurely ticketed arrival.

Public ballot FAQs
Does creating a myWimbledon account enter me?
No. Registration and a ballot application are separate steps. Keep your actual application confirmation.
When do 2027 offers start?
The official result page says October 2026 onwards. Watch your email and spam folder.
Can I choose the day or court?
The ballot allocates them. Read the offered day and court before paying.
Have I failed if I have not heard yet?
An immediate absence of an email is not a ticket offer or a final result. Follow the organiser’s notifications and published ticket options.
Where should I stay while waiting?
Compare flexible bookings, check their cancellation deadlines and avoid committing to a date you have not secured. The full guide compares local and District line bases.
