Plan the whole visit: Wimbledon
Start with the live Queue status
For a Queue attempt, preparation begins before you leave home. Look at the live status on Wimbledon’s official website, then read the current Queue information for your edition. The arrangements below describe 2026 wherever a year matters. The organiser will publish 2027 instructions nearer the Championships; check them before choosing a departure time or camping plan.
Arrive very early for a grounds pass; scarce show-court seats can involve overnight camping. There is no reliable universal arrival time or guaranteed result. Check the live Queue status before leaving. Take a small tent only within the current Queue Guide’s rules, arrange luggage storage, and budget for a long outdoor wait. The organiser will confirm the 2027 opening time and camping instructions nearer the time.Build a fallback into your day. Decide whether you would enjoy a grounds pass if a show-court seat is unavailable, and agree with your companions what to do if admission is unavailable altogether. Keep sightseeing or dinner flexible. A long wait can leave less energy for the evening than a normal ticketed visit.

Keep your Queue Card and your own place
The Queue is the on-day route, beginning in Wimbledon Park. In 2026 guests needed the Wimbledon app and their own myWimbledon account. Stewards issue a dated, numbered Queue Card; keep it with you. The card establishes your position but cannot guarantee entry once the grounds reach capacity. One person cannot hold a place for a friend.Follow the stewards to the end of the Queue and keep your card safe throughout the wait. Make sure your whole group understands that arriving together is different from asking somebody to save places. Ask a steward before leaving the line for a necessary break, and follow the current instructions for returning.
Keep your phone usable and your account ready before you reach the purchase point. Download the app in advance, check your login and bring a way to maintain battery charge. Familiarise yourself with the ticket options you would accept, so you can make a sensible decision when availability is explained. Your Queue Card and your ticket are different things: keep both where you can find them.

Prepare for an overnight wait
Camping can be relevant when you are aiming for scarce show-court seats. Read the organiser’s current tent, park-access and luggage instructions before carrying equipment across London. Do not assume that a previous summer’s opening arrangements apply to the new edition. There is no guaranteed arrival time that secures the court you want.
For an overnight stay, pack for sitting outdoors as well as sleeping: a warm layer, waterproof protection and whatever small camping equipment the current rules permit. Keep essential medication, water, food and your phone accessible. Check luggage storage before deciding what to bring, because the equipment needed in the park may be too large to enter the tennis grounds.
Plan the morning clean-up and packing as carefully as bedtime. Leave enough time to store equipment and follow steward instructions without separating your group. Avoid making a timed breakfast reservation or onward journey that assumes you will already have a ticket. Overnight effort buys you a place in the Queue, not certainty about the result.

Ask for the accessible waiting arrangements
The 2026 waiting arrangements: The Queue has a dedicated accessibility waiting area at the north end of AELTC Wimbledon Park, accessed through the Car Park 10 gate. The published information permits one carer or companion in the area. Ask staff how your Queue Card number will be called and which ticket options remain. Use this alternative waiting area while keeping your Queue position; entry and wheelchair spaces remain subject to availability.
The alternative waiting area does not cancel Queue rules or guarantee admission. Explain the assistance you need and check how you will move between the park, ticket purchase and the entrance. If a long outdoor wait is impractical, consider whether an advance ticket route would suit you better.
TfL lists lifts and boarding ramps at Southfields; check their operating status for your actual journey. Do not stop planning at the Tube station: the park approach, ticket entrance and final court route all matter. Use the full accessibility section and the organiser’s current map alongside your transport plan.
