2027 planning: the published 2027 event range is provisional. Prices, daily schedules and visitor arrangements from 2026 are clearly labelled; check the new edition before booking.

The tournament in brief

The Lexus Nottingham Open combines a women’s WTA 250 tournament with a men’s ATP Challenger 125 event on outdoor grass. The LTA currently labels 12–20 June 2027 as provisional. The men’s competition is below ATP 250 level, but shares the visitor experience with the WTA event included in our directory. Nottingham is a useful choice if you want a full mixed programme without travelling between separate venues.

The current official name is Lexus Nottingham Open; older editions used Rothesay branding. The venue is Lexus Nottingham Tennis Centre on University Boulevard, Nottingham NG7 2QH. Centre Court provides the main reserved-seating experience, with outside match and practice courts offering variety. Early in the tournament you can build a day around several courts, then use the Order of Play to follow the matches that interest you.

Qualifying

The 2026 programme began with qualifying on 13–14 June. The men’s main draw started on Sunday 14 June and the women’s on Monday 15 June. The detailed 2027 qualifying dates and admission prices are not yet published. A provisional event start is useful for comparing weekends, but check the new schedule before buying a ticket specifically for qualifying.

Qualifying gives players a route into the main singles fields. A visit can suit tennis fans who enjoy watching several developing contests rather than choosing a single headline match. Read what the opening-weekend ticket covers, including any overlapping main-draw play. Bring outdoor layers and a small picnic if you want a long day, and choose a flexible return so a match finishing late does not leave you rushing.

How to get tickets

Use the LTA ticket page for the official public sale. As checked in October 2026, the 2027 standard-ticket prices and sale date are not announced. Advantage Fan+ and Compete members are offered priority-sale opportunities when ticket windows open; check the actual membership offer and release announcement for eligibility. A priority window gives a chance to buy, not a guaranteed seat.

Start on the organiser’s ticket page, choose your date and read the booking summary carefully: court, seat category, number of people and any booking fee should all match your plan. Save the confirmation and check when tickets appear in the Courtside app. Arrange transfers through the official process if friends arrive separately. Hospitality can simplify a celebration, but compare the actual court seat, food, drinks and cancellation conditions before paying for a package.

The 2026 ticket information sold parking separately from tennis admission. Check the new checkout if you plan to drive, and keep that cost distinct from a grounds or Centre Court ticket. No numeric 2027 admission price is quoted here before the organiser publishes its grid. Read any transfer or resale instructions carefully if your group’s plans change after buying.

Which ticket and which day

In the 2026 ticket information, a Centre Court ticket included its allocated seat and grounds access. A grounds pass covered four outside match courts and practice courts, with seating subject to availability. That makes an early-round grounds day useful for a visitor who likes moving around. Check the 2027 product for its exact inclusions before assuming the same layout or number of courts.

The 2026 men’s singles and doubles finals were scheduled for Saturday 20 June, with the women’s finals on Sunday 21 June. This is why “finals weekend” needs a second question: which competition do you want to see? The provisional 2027 range ends on 20 June, but the detailed round allocation is still to come. Buy from that new schedule instead of shifting old dates forward by a year.

Arrive by rail at Nottingham station and follow signs to the tram stop above the station, reached by Karlsruhe Friendship Bridge. Take a tram towards Toton Lane and leave at University of Nottingham. The LTA describes a roughly 300-metre, three-minute final walk to the tennis centre, with dropped kerbs and a road crossing. Check the current route and gate map, and add station transfer and waiting time to your train arrival.

For buses, Nottingham City Transport’s Orange Line 34 serves University Park from the city. From the station, use the operator’s planner to find the current boarding stop and final walking route; it is not presented here as a direct station-to-gate shuttle. The tram is the straightforward starting option for a rail arrival. Bus stops and city-centre routing can change, so check again before travel.

Toton Lane offers a park-and-ride alternative with parking and onward tram travel; check NET’s fares and current restrictions. Event parking at Highfields was prebooked in the 2026 arrangements, while accessible parking at the centre needed advance booking. Keep University Park and tournament parking instructions distinct. After play, check the tram direction and leave time for the station transfer if you have a reserved train home.

Accessibility

National Rail classifies Nottingham station as Category A with step-free access to all platforms. NET describes low-floor trams with step-free boarding; check the platform gap and request assistance if needed. The final walk from University of Nottingham stop involves crossing the road, so use the organiser’s mapped approach. Check lift availability at the station and the full connection before relying on a tight arrival.

Choose the wheelchair or ease-of-access ticket option before payment. The LTA’s current booking instructions add a companion alongside a wheelchair place; ease-of-access customers can request an essential companion through the booking options. Confirm the seat combination with ticketing if your needs fall outside those choices. Ask about a route with the fewest stairs, the distance to toilets and whether your whole party can sit together. A general seat bought first can be difficult to exchange later.

The LTA lists prebooked Blue Badge parking at the front of the tennis centre, accessible toilets, a Quiet Room, sensory bags and wheelchair charging support. Food outlets are accessible, although outdoor grass areas can feel different after rain. Contact the organiser about your viewing space, assistance dog and companion arrangements in advance. Match the parking or tram route to the entrance on your ticket.

What to bring and entry rules

Pack comfortable shoes, a light waterproof, a warm layer, sunscreen and a hat. June can feel very different in exposed seating from the walk through town. A compact power bank helps with mobile tickets and the journey home; keep your ticket app working before you leave the hotel. Leave your overnight bag at your accommodation so you can move easily through security and between courts.

Under the LTA’s 2026 conditions, bring one bag no larger than 40 × 30 × 30cm and one small item up to 20 × 15 × 15cm. Outside alcohol was prohibited at Nottingham. Larger bags had no onsite storage. Read the 2027 conditions for the new edition before travelling.

Treat this as a day of outdoor grass-court tennis. If play stops, use the official announcements to decide whether to wait, take a food break or change your travel plans. Read the wet-weather policy attached to your ticket: rain alone does not tell you the refund outcome. A rigid dinner reservation or the last possible train makes a long match harder to enjoy. Leave some room in your budget and your evening for the unexpected.

Food and drink at the venue

The published food page describes cashless, wheelchair-accessible outlets, dietary options and free BRITA water refills. The 2027 menu details will be added nearer the tournament. Personal food and non-alcoholic drinks in non-glass containers are allowed under that page; use wooden or bamboo cutlery if you bring it. Designated picnic areas provide a break from watching, subject to the layout on the current map.

Plan lunch around your matches. Buy food before settling in for a long contest, or keep a snack handy so you can wait for a natural break. Bring a refillable bottle and locate the nearest water point early in the day. For allergies, speak to the outlet staff about ingredients and preparation; a dietary label is only the start of that conversation. If you bring a picnic, keep it easy to carry and clear your rubbish before moving to another court.

Where to stay

Choose a base around the journey you will repeat. Near the station is convenient for arriving with luggage and reaching the tram. The city centre and Lace Market give you more evening choice; Beeston puts you west of the city with a useful connection towards the venue. West Bridgford can suit a local weekend, but involves a connection across town. Check your hotel’s actual address against the tram or bus stop.

Journey times are door-to-gate estimates from a well-connected spot in each area. They include waiting and the final walk, and will vary with the hotel address, traffic and crowds. Price levels are a rough guide: check live prices for your dates. Compare the same dates, room occupancy, breakfast and cancellation terms, then add the daily transport cost. Ask about luggage storage if you arrive before check-in or leave after a full day of tennis.

Make a weekend of it

University Park and Highfields make a natural green-space companion to a tennis visit. Check the walking map and keep the outing short if you are fitting it around your ticketed day. For a longer break, set aside a separate morning so you can enjoy the surroundings without carrying all your tennis kit or watching the clock for the next match.

A city-centre base works well for an evening meal around the Lace Market, or a separate sightseeing day visiting Nottingham’s museums and galleries. Check the attraction’s own calendar before booking. West Bridgford provides another dining base if you are staying south of the river. Keep a relaxed dinner window after tennis, and place any timed attraction on the day when you have no match ticket.

Planning timeline

In October–December 2026, choose the kind of day you want and sign up for the organiser’s ticket news. Compare hotel areas before committing to a room. In January–February 2027, watch for priority access and general-sale announcements; buy the date and court you actually want, then match your travel to that ticket. These are planning tasks, not announced sales deadlines.

In March–April, check accommodation cancellation dates and any parking or accessibility booking process. In May, revisit the player list and event schedule, remembering that entries can change. In early June, check the current bag rules, ticket app, gate map and return services. The evening before your visit, read the Order of Play and weather forecast; on the morning itself, check transport disruption and charge your phone.

For Nottingham, check the separate men’s and women’s final dates when the 2027 schedule appears. If you need event parking, book it through the official process instead of assuming a tennis ticket covers the car. Compare the park-and-ride tram journey with your hotel route before deciding whether driving is useful.

FAQs

Is the tournament still called Rothesay Open Nottingham?

The current LTA name is Lexus Nottingham Open. Older Rothesay material refers to previous branding, so check its edition before using prices or schedules.

What level are the two competitions?

The LTA lists women’s WTA 250 and men’s ATP Challenger 125 tennis. The Challenger shares the venue but is below ATP 250 level.

Are 12–20 June 2027 firm dates?

The LTA labels that range provisional. Wait for the detailed new schedule before booking a particular qualifying or finals day.

Which tram should I take from the station?

Take a Toton Lane tram and leave at University of Nottingham. Follow the mapped final walk to the centre; check NET for current services.

Can I use a bus instead?

NCT Orange Line 34 serves University Park from the city. Plan the station-to-boarding-stop connection and final walk with the operator.

Does a grounds pass include Centre Court?

The 2026 grounds pass covered outside match and practice courts. A reserved Centre Court seat needed a Centre Court ticket; check the 2027 inclusions.

Is parking included in admission?

Parking was sold separately in the 2026 ticket information. Check the 2027 booking process, or compare Toton Lane park and ride.

Use our Queen’s Club guide for the women’s and men’s London weeks, Eastbourne for a seaside combined event, and Wimbledon for the Grand Slam fortnight.

Build a grass-season trip around your ticketed days and leave a travel buffer between cities. Qualifying, women’s and men’s finals can fall on different days, so compare the actual event schedules before booking a multi-stop itinerary. Each event uses its own tickets and entry rules; a grounds pass at one venue gives no access at another. London makes a useful link between rail journeys, but an evening match can remove the time you expected to have for a transfer.
