The Stuttgart grass event

BOSS OPEN is the men’s ATP 250 grass-court tournament at Tennisclub Weissenhof in Stuttgart, Germany. The organiser confirms 5–13 June 2027. This is the outdoor men’s grass event, distinct from Stuttgart’s women’s clay tournament. Use the venue’s Parlerstraße address when planning your journey: TC Weissenhof, Parlerstraße 102–110, 70192 Stuttgart. The club also has a separate Botnang campus, which is not the tournament destination.

Qualifying begins on Saturday 5 June 2027, with the published programme continuing into the main-draw week; the organiser identifies 12 June for semi-finals and 13 June for finals. Check the daily order of play for players and courts before travelling. A named entrant does not guarantee an appearance on your chosen day. For a first visit, choose one ticketed day and keep the rest of the weekend open for the city.

2027 tickets and exact price examples

2027 tickets are on sale. The organiser announced the opening of presales on 10 August 2026 and links directly to its official shop; it also identifies Eventim booking offices. Prices vary by day and seat. The official ticket site shows live prices. The three examples below are published starting prices for category 3 on specific 2027 dates, with a Centre Court seat. Dynamic pricing means the amount available when you book may change.

Date / yearCourt / categoryPublished starting price
Sunday 6 June 2027 · qualifying and show-practiceCentre Court · category 3From €35 (2027)
Monday 7 June 2027Centre Court · category 3From €75 (2027)
Sunday 13 June 2027 · finalsCentre Court · category 3From €109 (2027)

Ground tickets would cover practice and side-court matches without a Centre Court seat, but the price page currently lists them as unavailable. The current 2027 offer includes a €12.50 Centre Court Kids Day ticket for children and young people up to 16 on Sunday 6 June and Monday 7 June. Select the appropriate concession and check the final ticket conditions. The page has inconsistent older text elsewhere, so use its dated 2027 offers and ask the ticket team if an age category is unclear.

Read the final charge, admission category and weather terms before paying. Save the tennis ticket itself: the organiser says the invoice cannot be used as the included public-transport ticket. A single day is a sensible start if you are combining courts with sightseeing; a weekend product may be useful once you know you want both final days.

From the UK to Stuttgart

Stuttgart Airport, STR, is the natural arrival point. Eurowings offers the London Heathrow–Stuttgart route. Check whether your selected flight is direct and read its actual departure and arrival times; the airline’s route page displays varying monthly averages that should not be treated as a dependable duration for one service. Compare the whole journey, including UK airport travel, luggage and the connection to your accommodation.

The airport identifies S2 and S3 rail services linking it with the city. VVS gives a 27-minute journey between the airport and Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof. For an adult two-zone single journey, the 2026 VVS tariff displayed on the checking date is €4.90, or €4.45 as a mobile ticket. These are transport examples for 2026, not guaranteed 2027 prices. Check the fare and service alerts for the actual airport-to-hotel journey before departure.

If you prefer rail from the UK, build an international itinerary to Stuttgart through the operator’s planner and allow comfortable changes with luggage. The best route and total fare depend on your travel date. Arrive before your tennis day if a delayed connection would otherwise cost you most of the programme. Keep your journey home separate from an assumed final-match finishing time.

Killesberg arrival and public transport

The organiser recommends public transport because there is no spectator parking in the immediate surroundings and residential streets are restricted. From Hauptbahnhof, its visitor page identifies U5 to Killesberg or bus 44; bus 43 is another route from Stadtmitte. Use the VVS or SSB planner for your hotel’s actual stop and the current operating day. The event describes the venue as a few minutes’ walk from the Killesberg park area; allow longer for your pace and gate checks.

A BOSS OPEN ticket currently includes second-class VVS transport from three hours before the event begins until services close. Confirm the printed validity and route coverage on your actual 2027 ticket. Keep the ticket available for inspection throughout the journey. This benefit is useful for the tennis day, but an airport transfer on a different day needs its own ticket.

Use an official park-and-ride option if driving into the region. The visitor page also contains shuttle and car-park paragraphs with older edition dates, so wait for the final 2027 arrangements before relying on those. Map the return journey early and keep a backup taxi plan if your hotel is away from convenient evening services.

Accessible seats and step-free transport

The organiser’s FAQs direct wheelchair-ticket bookings to its ticket hotline. Contact the ticket team early to confirm the current booking route, a companion place and the best entrance for your viewing position. Ask about accessible toilets, gradients and the route through the temporary tournament layout. Email the organiser if the German domestic hotline is difficult to reach from the UK; explain your requirements before paying for an ordinary seat.

VVS lists Killesberg among its accessible stop maps, and the airport says its rail station is accessible. Use the transport operator’s accessibility information for your complete journey, including transfers and any lift notices. The final walk from the stop to Parlerstraße still needs checking against your equipment and walking needs. A stop’s accessible designation does not settle every pavement or entrance along the way.

Choose a hotel with a room and bathroom that fit your needs, then verify the connection from its exact door. Ask about a suitable taxi if that is the easiest final leg. Give yourself time for assistance, ticket checks and a rest before play. Keep the venue and transport contact details together so changing one part of the plan does not leave you searching through separate bookings.

UK passport requirements

Germany follows Schengen entry rules. A short tourist visit on a full British citizen passport can use the visa-free allowance of up to 90 days in any 180-day period, counting visits to other Schengen countries. Your passport must have been issued less than ten years before arrival and remain valid for at least three months after leaving Schengen. Check the full GOV.UK entry page if you have a residence permit or another circumstance affecting the usual visitor rules.

EES is being implemented and can involve a photograph and fingerprints at the border. It is free, with no advance application required. Allow extra time at immigration and follow staff instructions when entering and leaving. GOV.UK currently expects ETIAS in autumn 2026, but says no traveller action is required at this point and its specific start date will be announced before launch. Recheck that position for a June 2027 trip; do not pay a website claiming to sell an authorisation now.

Keep your onward travel and hotel details handy, and buy insurance appropriate to the holiday. These passport checks are worth doing before a non-refundable flight or room purchase. A tennis ticket confirms admission to the event, while border entry remains governed by the country’s rules.

Five practical Stuttgart bases

Choose the city centre if you want a simple mix of restaurants, railway access and a connection towards Killesberg. A property nearer Killesberg can suit repeated tennis days, while Feuerbach, Bad Cannstatt or Stuttgart-West widen the search. Map the individual property and the return route before deciding. Price levels are a rough guide: check live prices for your dates.

Search for your actual dates within the confirmed 5–13 June 2027 event window. Compare room cost with breakfast, parking and any transport outside the tennis ticket’s validity. If you are staying through both final days, check whether the property’s weekend rate or minimum stay changes the total. A station-adjacent room may make airport arrival easier, while a quieter base can mean another connection after play.

Ask about late check-in, luggage storage and access needs before booking. Build sightseeing around a separate non-tennis day when possible. A useful base gives you the freedom to stay with an absorbing match without worrying that you have missed your only practical route home.

Four ways to make a city break

Killesberg Hill Park is the nearby green option. The official city tourism page describes gardens, play areas and its viewing tower, so choose a gentle stroll or a longer park visit depending on your group. Check individual attraction arrangements before promising a railway ride or tower climb. A park stop can work well on a separate morning without competing with your ticketed tennis.

The Weissenhof Estate and Weissenhof Museum give you an architecture-focused outing; check museum opening days and access before travelling. Elsewhere in the city, the Mercedes-Benz Museum and Porsche Museum are two distinct automotive options in the official tourism listings. Select one for a longer visit rather than trying to squeeze both between matches. They need their own journeys, admission and opening-hour checks.

If you only have one day: travel to Killesberg, enjoy your chosen programme and keep your return straightforward. With a weekend, put the park or Weissenhof visit on your non-tennis morning and reserve a museum for another flexible slot. You can enjoy Stuttgart without giving yourself appointments that depend on a final set ending quickly.

More European grass trips

Compare Halle, Libéma Open and Mallorca for another grass-season break. Open each guide’s dates and Where to stay section before making a multi-event plan. Allow time for hotel changes and travel between cities; an appealing calendar sequence still needs practical train or flight connections.
