2027 planning: The organiser confirms 17–24 July 2027 for the men’s event, including qualifying. The published 2027 ticket prices are starting prices and can change.
The tournament in brief
The Generali Open gives you an Austrian mountain break with clay-court tennis at its centre. The organiser names the venue as Kitzbüheler Tennis Club, Sportfeld 2,6370 Kitzbühel. It identifies the men’s competition as ATP 250 on clay and confirms 17–24 July 2027. Its ticket programme separates qualifying on 17–18 July from the main draw on 19–24 July. Use those organiser dates when you choose your stay.
There is also a women’s event in the organiser’s 2027 programme, running 11–18 July with WTA 125 semi-finals and final on the closing weekend. If you want to combine both competitions, read the individual day’s ticket carefully. A ticket for the women’s closing weekend and men’s qualifying is a different plan from a seat for the men’s final.
Choose Kitzbühel if you want an outdoor tennis holiday with time for mountain walks and evenings in town. Build the trip around one or two court days, then leave a separate day for sightseeing. Arriving the night before helps you begin your first tennis session without a long airport transfer behind you.

Tickets and choosing a court
The organiser has published 2027 prices and links to its official webshop. A dated general-sale opening announcement is still to come; check availability in the linked shop before committing to travel. Category B uses unreserved seating, Category A offers a reserved seat and Category A Plus is a reserved shaded seat. Read the current seating plan alongside the price.
The three examples below use consistent entries from the 2027 price page. Categories can use dynamic pricing, so these are starting amounts, not guaranteed checkout totals. There is also a 2027 Monday last-minute Category B offer at €10 after 17:00, sold only at the day ticket office if seats are available. Do not build an essential tennis day around that conditional late offer.
Check the age category and ID requirements when buying for a family. The 2027 ticket page lists free entry for children through age 14 on Monday 19 July, Kitz 4 Kids Day. On ordinary days, children aged 6–14 receive 50% off and children through age 5 use free lap admission without their own seat. Ask the ticket office how to obtain the correct ticket before arriving.
| Day / round | Court and category | 2027 published starting price |

Travelling from the UK
Compare flights to Salzburg first, alongside Innsbruck and Munich if their connections fit your trip better. British Airways gives London–Salzburg an approximate flight time of two hours. Check that the flight operates on your summer dates: a destination served in winter does not settle next July’s schedule. Compare the return departure as carefully as the outward flight.
From Salzburg Airport, Austrian Airlines describes bus 2 to the main railway station with a 23-minute journey. Salzburg Verkehr’s adult core-zone one-hour ticket costs €2.60 in 2026 when bought through a machine or online; complete the local journey within its 60-minute validity. That ticket covers the Salzburg local transfer, not the onward train to Kitzbühel.
Use the ÖBB planner for Salzburg Hauptbahnhof to Kitzbühel, checking changes, the fare and the station most convenient for your room. A fixed 2027 through-transfer fare has not been published. Choose a connection with room for border controls, baggage collection and a missed bus. If you prefer a direct car transfer, request a quote that includes your party size, luggage and exact drop-off before comparing it with rail.

Getting there on the day
The organiser gives a 15-minute walk from Kitzbühel Hahnenkamm station to the tournament grounds. Check the final route from your actual hotel and leave additional time for security and finding your seat. Hahnenkamm and the main Kitzbühel station are different stops, so use the correct name in the rail planner.
The arrival page also describes a shuttle from Kitzbühel’s main station and marked parking stops. Its detailed shuttle dates still refer to 2026, while part of the free regional travel information refers to 2024. Wait for the 2027 arrangements before relying on free travel, a particular shuttle departure or a last return service. Check the event and transport operator together.
If you drive, use the approved spectator parking plan and allow for the final transfer to the courts. The organiser warns that parking is limited and recommends rail. Check where you can leave the car overnight at your accommodation, and compare that cost with a hotel within walking reach of the tennis. Keep a simple return option for a session that finishes later than expected.

Accessibility and assistance
Book a dedicated wheelchair ticket with the tournament team at tickets@ktc.at. The organiser’s FAQ says an ordinary seat ticket does not provide wheelchair admission; staff direct visitors to the allocated viewing spaces. Its 2027 price page lists a 50% reduction for the wheelchair user and companion, with advance arrangements through the ticket office. Confirm the space and companion reservation together.
ÖBB lists Kitzbühel main station as accessibility class 1, meaning independent station use without significant access or platform obstacles. It also lists a lift and accessible toilet. Check service notices and boarding arrangements for your particular train before travelling. Do not transfer that station classification automatically to Hahnenkamm or to the tournament shuttle.
Ask the organiser which station and final transfer best match your needs. Confirm whether a shuttle can take your mobility equipment and ask about the route from the entrance to the court and toilets. Discuss room access directly with your hotel, including the final pavement route and any gradients. Clear, confirmed arrangements matter more than an attractive map distance.

Entry requirements for UK travellers
Austria is in the Schengen area. British citizen passport holders can make short tourist visits without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Include other Schengen destinations and earlier trips in that total. GOV.UK requires a passport issued less than ten years before arrival and valid for at least three months after your intended departure from Schengen.
EES is operating and may require a photograph and fingerprints at the border. There is no registration charge and no advance EES application. Allow more time for border checks when planning your train connection and return flight. At this check on 11 October 2026, GOV.UK still says ETIAS is expected to start in Autumn 2026, with the exact date to be announced. It is not yet operating; check again before travel in 2027.
Keep your accommodation, return journey and insurance details available. If you fly to Munich, read Germany’s entry rules as well as Austria’s because Germany is your point of arrival. Check any individual passport or residence circumstances directly with the relevant authorities.

Where to stay
Start with Kitzbühel town for the simplest combination of tennis, food and rail. Then compare nearby villages if you want a quieter room or a longer walking holiday. Price levels are a rough guide: check live prices for your dates. Use your actual dates and compare the room price with the cost and effort of every return journey.
Check a property’s exact address before reserving. A village centre and a hillside hotel can produce very different tennis days. Ask about breakfast times, late arrival, luggage storage and accessible rooms if needed. If you depend on a bus, look at the evening timetable before accepting a cheaper room.

Things to do around Kitzbühel
Give Hahnenkamm a separate mountain day: the visitor site lists its cable-car network, and the summer setting offers a different perspective from televised winter skiing. Kitzbüheler Horn is a second lift outing to compare. Check operating dates, forecast and return times before setting off; choose a walk suited to your footwear and experience.
Schwarzsee provides a third option for an easier lakeside outing. The official KitzTrail route connects countryside and the lake, so choose the stretch that suits the time you have. For an indoor alternative, investigate Kitzbühel Museum and its current programme. The exhibition listed today is not a promised 2027 exhibition: check opening details close to your trip.
If you only have one day: give it to the tennis and keep dinner nearby. With a weekend, use one full day at the courts and the other for the lake or a mountain. With more time, explore Aurach or Jochberg using the visitor site’s walking options. Avoid booking a fixed-time outing after tennis; weather and long matches can change when you leave.
