2027 planning: The organiser publishes 10–18 July 2027. Ticket prices below are 2026 examples; 2027 ticket and daily programme details are still to come.

The tournament in brief

Gstaad is a good choice if you want your tennis trip to feel like a mountain holiday. The EFG Swiss Open Gstaad is an ATP 250 event played on clay at the Roy Emerson Arena. The organiser’s current website displays 10–18 July 2027. Those are confirmed event dates; wait for the 2027 daily programme before deciding which dates are qualifying and which are main-draw sessions. The published contact address is Neueretstrasse 2,3780 Gstaad, Switzerland. Follow the spectator entrance signs on arrival.

The attraction is the combination: a tennis day with a manageable arrival, followed by time in the surrounding valley. Plan two or three nights if you want both courts and countryside. Arrive before your ticketed day, settle into your accommodation and identify your route to the entrance. You will enjoy the tennis more if you are not watching the clock for an airport train.

Pick your day by the ticket category and published round. The entry list can help you decide which matches interest you, but it does not guarantee that a particular player will appear on your chosen day. Keep your evening flexible and use the daily order of play when it is published.

Tickets and choosing a court

Buy through Ticketcorner or Gstaad Saanenland Tourism, both linked by the organiser. The 2027 sale date and tariffs have not been announced. Save the official ticket page and return when the new edition is listed. Its 2027 header does not turn the older ticket offers beneath it into 2027 prices.

The table gives 2026 online starting prices for specific days. They are useful examples for comparing qualifying with a main-draw day, not a quote for next summer. The organiser’s separate 2026 category tariff has different amounts, so use the actual ticket listing and checkout total for the seat you want. No seat category is attached to these online starting-price offers.

Compare the seat location, included courts and refund conditions before paying. Save the confirmation and keep your ticket available offline. If you are travelling with children, check the new edition’s age categories and ask whether the youngest child needs a ticket even where entry is free. A hospitality package is a different purchase: read the inclusions before comparing it with ordinary admission.

Travelling from the UK

Geneva is a practical airport to compare first. British Airways gives an approximate London–Geneva flight time of one hour 40 minutes. This is a route estimate, not a 2027 departure schedule. Gstaad Tourism estimates the onward airport-to-Gstaad train journey at two hours 50 minutes. Its route runs through Lausanne and Montreux into the valley. Check your complete journey in the Swiss rail timetable before booking a flight.

The MOB fare page, checked in 2026, lists Montreux–Gstaad at CHF 28 for a second-class one-way ticket and CHF 56 return. Those amounts cover that rail section, not Geneva Airport to the arena. A GoldenPass Express seat reservation is a separate product; the operator lists CHF 20 per person for an ordinary first- or second-class reservation. Check whether you need it for your chosen service and whether a pass changes the ticket cost.

Compare the whole journey, including baggage, the airport train and the final connection. A late landing can leave you with fewer valley trains to choose from. If you travel overland from the UK, build your route through Paris and Switzerland using the operators’ current timetables, allowing comfortable changes. Book the airport-to-Gstaad fare for your actual date; a fixed 2027 through-fare is still to come.

Getting there on the day

The organiser says Gstaad railway station is immediately beside the tournament venue. That makes a hotel near a rail stop a useful starting point for a car-free visit. The access page does not give a station-to-gate walking time. Follow the event entrance signs and allow for security and ticket scanning before your first match.

If you stay in Saanen, Schönried, Saanenmöser or Zweisimmen, check the train to Gstaad and the return service before settling on a room. Save the final departure you would be comfortable taking, with an earlier option if your plans change. Do not make a late match depend on the very last train.

Driving visitors should use the organiser’s marked spectator parking arrangements. Its access page describes parking between Saanen and Gstaad with an onward walk, and a more distant alternative with a shuttle in poor weather. Confirm the edition’s location and tariff before travelling; the parking text does not attach its quoted amount to a specific year. Ask your accommodation about a guest card and exactly which local journeys it covers.

Accessibility and assistance

Contact ticketing.gstaad@gcmsa.ch before buying if you need an adapted viewing space. The organiser accepts reduced-mobility requests by email or telephone and says spaces are limited and allocated in request order. Ask about your companion’s ticket, the entrance to use, the surface of the route to your viewing space and the nearest accessible toilet.

Use SBB’s accessible journey planning for the complete route. Check the connection’s boarding information as well as station access, especially where you change onto a different railway’s train. Arrange any required assistance before committing to a tight interchange. A station beside the tennis removes a long transfer, but you should still confirm how your train and viewing area will work for you.

Give your hotel specific room requirements and ask for confirmation directly. Check the route from the hotel entrance to the station, including slopes and luggage. Keep the organiser’s contact details with your travel documents so you can confirm arrangements again before departure.

Entry requirements for UK travellers

Switzerland is in the Schengen area. GOV.UK says British citizen passport holders can visit visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Count earlier Schengen trips and any other countries you will visit on this holiday. Your passport must have been issued less than ten years before arrival and expire at least three months after your planned departure from Schengen.

EES is operating. You may need to register a photograph and fingerprints at the border; registration is free and does not need an advance application. Allow additional time for arrival and departure controls. On 11 October 2026, GOV.UK says ETIAS is expected to start in Autumn 2026 and that its specific launch date will be announced. It is not yet in operation: no ETIAS application is required at this check. Recheck before a 2027 trip.

Carry your accommodation and onward-travel details, and arrange suitable travel insurance. Read the current Switzerland entry page before booking and again before departure. If you hold a different passport or have residence rights that change the rules, check the requirements that apply to you.

Where to stay

For the easiest tennis day, start with Gstaad near the station. For a broader holiday, compare the villages on the same railway. Price levels are a rough guide: check live prices for your dates. Search your actual dates and compare a complete stay, including transport and cancellation conditions.

Ask about check-in, luggage storage and breakfast if you are arriving by rail. A room advertised under a village name may still involve a steep or lengthy final walk. Check its address against the station and discuss access directly with the hotel. Keep your reservation flexible until you have the tennis ticket you want.

Things to do around Gstaad

Leave a separate day for the mountains. Wispile is one option for a cable-car outing and a walk, subject to the summer operating dates and weather. Choose a route that suits your experience and footwear, with enough time to return before the lifts stop. Avoid treating a mountain excursion as a quick activity between tennis matches.

Lake Lauenen is another worthwhile outing. The visitor site describes a bus from Gstaad or a longer approach involving Wispile and a hike. Check the seasonal bus and the walk you intend to do. Saanen’s village streets make a gentler independent outing, while the GoldenPass journey towards Montreux gives you a fourth option: enjoy the railway scenery on a day when you can stop without rushing.

If you only have one day: keep it for the tennis, then take a short walk around your base. With a longer stay, give the courts one full day and the mountains another. Have a lower-level plan for poor weather and avoid booking a timed attraction immediately after a session that could run late.
