2027 planning: Women’s and men’s 2027 dates are confirmed separately. Dedicated 2027 ticket pages say information will be available soon.

The tournament in brief

The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships stages separate women’s and men’s weeks at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium in Garhoud. The 2027 WTA 1000 runs 14–20 February and the ATP 500 runs 22–27 February, both on outdoor hard courts. The organizer gives 14–27 February for the wider championship period. Choose your preferred tour before setting the holiday dates, and treat admission to each week as a separate purchase.

Garhoud is close to Dubai International Airport and connected to the Red Line. It gives this tennis break a different geography from a beach holiday near Dubai Marina or Palm Jumeirah. A hotel near the stadium can simplify repeated visits, while a central or beach base adds other holiday choices and a longer journey. Compare the actual route from the hotel door to the entrance before choosing.

Early rounds suit visitors who enjoy several matches and a busy programme. The final days have fewer encounters with more at stake, so reserve the kind of day you would enjoy even if a favourite player loses earlier. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a light layer for the evening, then allow time away from the stands. Leave any restaurant booking flexible enough for a match to run long.

Tickets and choosing a seat

Start from the official tournament ticket pages for the women’s or men’s week. The dedicated 2027 pages say ticket information will be available soon. Prices vary by day and seat. The official ticket site shows live prices. Decide on the tour and two acceptable dates first, then compare the confirmed seating map and complete payment total when the relevant release opens.

The organizer’s seating details page is labelled 2026 and describes different reserved and open-seating arrangements across Prime and Grandstand categories. Use the 2027 product description to establish whether the seat is numbered and what other courts are included. Ask about arrival time, late-session access and any package conditions before paying. A familiar category name does not by itself establish the same arrangement in another year.

The organizer identifies Ticketmaster and the stadium box office as authorised channels and warns that reseller tickets will not be accepted. Keep the purchase confirmation and digital access instructions, and read the event’s transfer and cancellation terms. Amounts are in UAE dirhams, shown here as AED. For transport budgeting, a one-zone Silver nol journey at AED 3 is approximately £0.62 using the dated conversion explained below.

Getting there from the UK

Dubai International Airport is the most convenient airport to compare for a Garhoud tennis visit. Search the actual February flight timetable from your nearest UK airports, with attention to arrival time, baggage and the return after your final match. An early arrival can give you useful settling-in time, but still allow for immigration and the hotel’s check-in rules before planning activities.

The airport, Garhoud and the rest of Dubai offer different transfer choices. Compare licensed taxis or a booked driver with the Red Line, taking account of the terminal, luggage and the walk to your hotel. If your flight uses Al Maktoum International Airport instead, include its separate road journey in the comparison. Save the property’s address and arrival instructions before leaving home.

Arrive before the session that matters most to you. A transcontinental flight followed by a match-night commitment leaves little room for delay or rest. Keep the first evening near the hotel, find somewhere for breakfast and confirm the tournament route. For a longer holiday, choose whether convenience for repeated tennis visits or a beach setting is the stronger priority, then compare the complete transport cost across your stay.

Getting there on the day

Use Al Garhoud on the Red Line when comparing rail access; the organizer’s travel page also uses the previous GGICO name. Its page describes a walk from the station and a station shuttle. Confirm the 2027 shuttle route, pickup and last return when the event travel information is released, and allow for the whole approach from the platform through security to your booked court.

RTA currently lists Silver nol fares of AED 3 within one zone, AED 5 across two adjacent zones and AED 7.50 across more than two. These are approximately £0.62, £1.03 and £1.54 respectively at the 9 October 2026 conversion: AED 1 is about £0.20597, calculated from the ECB USD/GBP rate and the central bank’s dollar rate. Card purchase is separate. Check the zones on your actual hotel journey.

The organizer also describes a park-and-ride service. Use the event-year instructions before choosing a parking area or relying on a specific operating period. If taking a taxi, save the current pickup point and your hotel address. Allow extra departure time after a close match, and check the last metro service for the day you attend. A prearranged return can help when an evening finishes later than planned.

Accessibility

Ask the organizer about the exact date and seating arrangement before purchasing if you need a wheelchair space, a companion seat or an approach with few steps. The official contact page directs general enquiries to marketing@ddf.ae and purchase questions to Ticketmaster. Explain your needs clearly and request confirmation of the entrance, court route and accessible toilets before committing to a room and flight.

Review the whole hotel-to-seat journey. A metro option includes the walk through stations and the final approach in Garhoud; a taxi option needs a suitable vehicle and usable drop-off point. Ask how the station shuttle accommodates mobility equipment if you intend to use it. Leave enough time for assistance and for a comfortable break after reaching the venue.

Check the actual hotel room and bathroom specification with the property, including entrance steps and lift access. A broad description of accessibility can leave practical questions unanswered. Pack essential medication according to the UAE’s entry rules and the tournament policy, and keep contact details for the arrangements you have made. A backup transfer can be useful if the planned rail route or assistance changes on the day.

Entry requirements, dress and local customs

GOV.UK UAE entry advice was checked on 9 October 2026. Visitors on a full British citizen passport can obtain a free visitor or tourist visa on arrival, valid for up to 90 days within a 180-day period from first entry. The passport must expire at least six months after arrival. Count recent UAE visits in the allowance and review the current requirements before booking and before departure.

Dress and local customs: GOV.UK advises modest public dress, with women covering shoulders and knees and swimwear kept to beaches or pools. Individual venues can have additional rules. Respect local traditions during Ramadan and ask your hotel about restaurant opening arrangements. Swearing and rude gestures are illegal, and public displays of affection can lead to problems. Read the full laws section when planning the trip.

Keep your itinerary, insurance contact and accommodation details accessible, and review the rules for any medication before packing it. For a Doha and Dubai holiday, prepare separately for Qatar and the UAE: the border rules and currencies differ. Use local time for flights and tennis tickets, compare your bank’s overseas fees and carry a backup payment method for the journey.

Read GOV.UK’s UAE laws and cultural differences before travelling.

Where to stay

Garhoud is the starting point for a tennis-focused hotel search. Deira and Bur Dubai offer other older-city bases, while Downtown and the World Trade Centre area can combine city outings with Red Line travel. Dubai Marina or Jumeirah Beach Residence provides a beach-oriented alternative with a longer daily journey. Judge each property by its exact address and the return after an evening session.

Compare the complete stay rate, breakfast, cancellation deadline and any parking charges. A hotel close to a metro station can make several tennis visits simpler, but check the walk and crossings. Ask about noise if you plan to sleep late after a long night. For a mixed holiday, price your repeated tennis transfers alongside the room before choosing a beach property.

Make a weekend of it

For a short tennis break, arrive with an evening free, spend the next day at the tournament and leave a lighter city outing for departure day. A night ticket can work with a relaxed morning elsewhere, provided you allow time to rest and travel to Garhoud. Save ambitious sightseeing for a separate day so a long match does not compete with a prepaid attraction booking.

An older-city outing around Dubai Creek and Al Fahidi gives a different experience from Downtown’s major attractions or a beach afternoon. Choose one area at a time, with an easy meal nearby, and check current opening hours and official admission arrangements. A desert excursion deserves its own transport and return plan. It is easier to enjoy when you have no tightly timed match entry later that afternoon.

At the stadium, locate your booked seat and return transport point before exploring the tennis village. Follow the organizer’s current bag and drink rules while packing. Keep a break for lunch and shade, then choose optional extra matches around the session you bought. Reassess the programme during the day; a good tennis trip can include an early finish when you have already seen the matches you wanted.

The Gulf and Asian swings

Gulf swing: Link Doha and Dubai around the women’s or men’s weeks you want to watch. flydubai lists a typical Doha–Dubai flight of about 1 hour 14 minutes. That is flying time only: add airport check-in, baggage and both hotel transfers. The route information was checked on 9 October 2026; confirm the 2027 timetable before booking.

Asian swing: Compare Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan and Tokyo around your chosen sessions, as some tournament weeks overlap. Current non-stop route listings give about 2 hours 25 minutes from Beijing Capital to Shanghai Hongqiao, 2 hours 5 minutes from Shanghai Hongqiao to Wuhan, and 2 hours 55 minutes from Shanghai Pudong to Tokyo Narita. These are flight-only planning examples checked on 9 October 2026; allow for airport transfers and recheck 2027 schedules. For Wuhan–Tokyo, verify connecting options: ANA’s published Narita–Wuhan suspension runs through 27 March 2027 and does not confirm autumn services.
